On 24 October 2024, the SIGTTO Regional Panel was held in Dapeng New District, Shenzhen. This Regional panel was organized by the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (‘SIGTTO’) and co-organized by China LNG Shipping (International)Co., Ltd (‘CLSICO’) and Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) Limited. Cherian Oommen, the Chairman of SIGTTO, attended the panel. Xu Hui, Vice President of China Merchants Energy Shipping Company Limited and Director of China LNG Shipping (Holdings) Limited (‘CLNG’) attended and delivered a keynote speech.

Xu Hui indicated in his speech that the panel provides an excellent communication platform for China’s LNG transportation industry, terminal operators, and managers of related industries. He highlighted that upstream and downstream enterprises of LNG industry chain and relevant professional and technical associations shall continue to deepen cooperation, through complementary advantages and resource sharing to strengthen the ability of the industry to jointly resist risks, promote the deep integration of the industrial chain and the continuous stability of the supply chain, achieve win-win cooperation and jointly promote the high-quality development of the industry.
The panel was presided over by General Manager of CLSICO, Mr. Andrew Johnston, and the Technical Advisor of SIGTTO, Mr. He Yunzhe.

The panel also invited 12 guests from Daya Bay Maritime Safety Administration, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co, Ltd., China Classification Society(‘CCS’), ROTOBOOST and etc. to give speeches and conduct discussions under the topic regarding maritime supervision, ship safety, technology development and industrial regulatory interpretation.
Mr. Wei Kaikai from Daya Bay Maritime Safety Administration shared the deficiencies and opinions regarding the Port State Control inspection of LNG carriers.

Mr. Adrian Ruiz who is from SIGTTO introduced the safety factors of LNG terminal and emergency release system.

Ms. Kaisa Nikulainen from Rotoboost demonstrates the advanced technology of directly producing hydrogen by the gas vaporized from the LNG cargo tanks.

CLSICO’s Technical Projects Manager Alan Ng presented best practices for managing Integrated Automation Systems (IAS) on LNG vessels, addressing the numerous challenges and highlighting strategies for improved safety and reliability.

The forum was widely participated by the industry, with more than 100 representatives from 36 companies, including PetroChina International (Hong Kong) Corporation Limited, CNOOC Technology & Services-Oil Production Services Co. and Qatar National Energy Company, attending the meeting. Li Qiong, Director of Shenzhen Dapeng New District Commerce Bureau, Yang Kunpeng, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Daya Bay Maritime Safety Administration, Cong Jian, General Manager of CLNG, Shu Binglin, Chairman of CLSICO, Zhao Hongxing, Deputy General Manager of CLSICO, Fan Qiang, General Manager of CCS Hong Kong Branch, and Amarendra Kumar from CLP Power Hong Kong Limited attended the forum.
