On 12th Mar, Shen Hai berthed at Yangshan LNG Terminal and started discharging the 500th cargo of Yangshan LNG Terminal. Shanghai LNG Company expressed sincere thanks to all ship and shore personal for their contributions in ensuring the security of gas supply.
Shen Hai is a specialized LNG vessel managed by CLSICO for SHLNG Project. Since the vessel was delivered in 2012, she has not suffered any Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) and has transferred 27.2 million cubic meters of LNG (which can be converted to natural gas of 16.32 billion cubic meters), which has provided strong support for the urban gas supply in Shanghai City. At the beginning of 2021, many cities in China had experienced La Nina cold weather, which caused the surged demand for natural gas. On 13th Jan, the natural gas storage in SHLNG had reached the lowest ever volume, which only enough for one day. Under this urgent situation, Shen Hai has adjusted the schedule, entering Yangshan LNG terminal at 1230 noon on 13th Jan with 137 thousand cubic meters LNG (which can be converted to natural gas of 82.2 million cubic meters). This critical cargo relieves the supply pressure and contributes to SHLNG to win the battle of protecting and supply of natural gas.
