The “Colours of Hong Kong Ships” photo competition was just held from May 8 to 30, 2020. The competition attracted over a hundred submissions from seafarers sailing onboard HK flag ships, and three entries were selected as the winners.
Apart from providing a platform for seafarers to tell their stories, the “Colours of Hong Kong Ships” competition also aimed to raise the awareness of the maritime trade through the proper display of flags on board of Hong Kong registered ships. Entries submitted by participants showcased the flags onboard of Hong Kong registered ships, and the beauty and harmonious integration of ships nestled under the natural and distinctive scenery at sea or in port.
The winners (including CLSICO’s Capt. Andy Shearer onboard the Min Rong) will receive a unique crystal plaque with the name of the awardee, the respective ship and company engraved. The winning images may also be used on the Marine Department’s website and Hong Kong Shipping Registry promotional materials in the future.
