Since the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, and to ensure ship staff and cargo operation safety, CLSICO has suspended all Chinese crew change plan on 23rd Jan, and suspended non-Chinese crew change plan on 3rd Mar. But our office has paid close attention to the pandemic development, and has tried our best to dilute the crew for the concerns of the outbreak by a variety of activities to encourage the crew on board. In order to provide necessary support to our vessels in time, the management team has organized more than one teleconference with each ship to communicate with the ship, obtain the ship operation situation and ship staff mental status, which has earned great understanding and cooperation from all ship staff. By the end of April, even though more than 75% of the crew have exceeded their normal contract period, there has not been one incident that affected safety operation of the ship due to the slack crew.
Along with the decisive victory in Covid-19 control in China, CLSICO keeps contact with all LNG terminals, to demonstrate our careful deployment and protection of the safety of the crew, especially on-signing crew’s health conditions. Since 12th May, CLSICO has restarted Chinese crew change plan in three domestic ports in China. By 27th May, we have completed first batch of Chinese crew change for all 6 ships successfully, with a total of 137 crew members, including 73 joiners and 64 off-signers. In particular for two sick crew, they have been arranged timely and proper treatment and returned home safely.
